The U.S. Senate has confirmed Assistant U.S. Attorney Aileen Cannon for U.S. District judge in the Southern District of Florida.

And that’s good news, according to Carl Tobias, a professor at the University of Richmond School of Law who writes about federal judicial selection. Tobias said the confirmation shows the White House and Florida’s senators are picking strong people for the federal court in the Southern District of Florida.
