Five federal Title IX lawsuits against the School Board of Miami-Dade County from girls who were allegedly sexually abused by their gym teacher have resolved with an $8.7 million settlement.

Aaron Karger of the Law Offices of Aaron A. Karger in North Miami Beach teamed with Haggard Law Firm’s Pedro Echarte to represent the girls—four of whom alleged former Brownsville Middle School teacher Wendell Nibbs raped them, while another alleged he sexually harassed and inappropriately touched her.
