A South Florida debt defense attorney who sued over nuisance calls has lost out at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, thanks to a pesky contract clause.

It's a case that demonstrates the boundaries of consumer protection law because although the attorney told an operator he didn't want automated calls, the appellate panel found Friday that he had inadvertently reconsented moments later through an online form.
