A state appeals court next week will hear arguments in a challenge to the conviction of a former charter-school management company CEO sentenced to 20 years in prison for racketeering and fraud involving schools in various parts of Florida.

Marcus May, whose company Newpoint Education Partners operated 15 schools in six counties, is asking the First District Court of Appeal to overturn his 2018 conviction in Escambia County.
