The vaccine distribution scheme in Florida is like announcing to a room of ravenous teenagers that their pizza delivery has arrived. Except, with respect to vaccines, it’s a rush of senior citizens attempting to grab the few life preservers that are available.

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires that persons with disabilities receive equal access to all programs and services of state and local government. The same duty applies to a business’ program and service. The state of Florida and county governments have developed a vaccine distribution scheme that immunizes those in institutionalized care, such as nursing homes, and those seniors that have the ability and the means to make an appointment, travel to, and wait at a distribution point on two occasions.
