Alfred Saikali, chair of the Privacy and Data Security Practice at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Miami, said nobody in Florida is giddier about proposed consumer privacy legislation than class action lawyers.

Saikali’s comments come as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is supporting a bill to regulate the sale and sharing of personal data, saying the proposed legislation would give consumers in the sunshine state “more control of their data.”
