DLA Piper has opened an international arbitration practice in Colombia in anticipation of more disputes ahead as foreign investment pours into the South American country.

Colombian affiliate firm DLA Piper Martínez Beltrán has hired Ricardo Alarcón to direct the practice. He was previously an associate in Shearman & Sterling’s international arbitration group in Paris. He will be based in Bogotá.
