Holland & Knight has hired former NBCUniversal data privacy attorney Hilary Lane to join its data strategy, security and privacy team as partner, the firm announced earlier this month. In a press release, practice leader Mark Melodia said the group is handling an “unprecedented amount of work” as corporations continue to leverage consumer data and prepare for a wave of privacy laws.

Lane joined NBC in 2005 as its vice president of litigation after 16 years at the New York office of Clifford Chance. She became the senior vice president of information governance in 2011 and was named chief privacy officer in 2014, a role she held for five years until 2019.
