Two Suarezes is one too many for the Miami-based Am Law 200 firm Greenspoon Marder.
At least that's how former Miami City Mayor Xavier Suarez explained the timing of his hiring. Greenspoon Marder announced last week that Suarez would be joining the firm as of counsel following his unsuccessful run for Miami-Dade County mayor in 2020. The same day, the Am Law 100 firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan announced that it had hired Xavier's son and current Miami City Mayor Francis Suarez away from Greenspoon Marder.
