A Florida-based circuit board manufacturer has sued Carlton Fields for $10 million in damages over the law firm's representation of the company as plaintiff's counsel in a 2017 lawsuit.

The complaint, filed by Miami attorney Warren Trazenfeld last Friday in the Miami-Dade Circuit Court, alleges the Am Law 200 firm failed to compute damages in accordance with federal court rules as part of a lost profits damage claim.

"It is critically important that whenever you have multiple damage theories to disclose the damage theories and the computations in federal court or risk losing the opportunity to pursue those damages," Trazenfeld told the Daily Business Review. "This is not rocket science. When you are in federal court, disclosures are absolutely critical."
