The Florida high court advised the state attorney general on Thursday to scrap a constitutional initiative to legalize recreational cannabis, regulate it like alcohol and allow constituents aged 21 or older to grow it for personal consumption.

The justices ruled in their advisory opinion to Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody that the ballot item was misleading to voters. They noted that the proposed amendment does not limit the use of marijuana, “but the ballot summary tells voters otherwise.”
