A jury found that a Lake Worth Beach rehabilitative facility was liable for an infection that led to a patient’s death, awarding $1.7 million.

On Feb. 5, 2016, plaintiff’s decedent Michelle Cohen, a 61-year-old unemployed woman, was admitted to a rehabilitative facility, Oasis Health and Rehabilitation Center, which was located in the city of Lake Worth Beach. Cohen had undergone treatment of an infection of her urinary tract, and she was suffering residual weakness.
