Zoom Video Communications was not on everyone's radar prior to March 2020—certainly not to the point where the company name is used as a verb. It is now, and the company, with some help from Cooley, is looking to capitalize on that and expand.
Zoom announced July 18 that the video communications provider, competing with more established videoconferencing entities and products like WebEx, Microsoft Teams and Google Video, is purchasing call center company Five9 for almost $15 billion in what is the company's first public acquisition since it went public in 2019.
