The 2020 Paycheck Protection Program loans taken by most Florida-based NLJ 500 law firms have largely been forgiven, according to Small Business Administration records. The Administration granted forgiveness for at least 15 of the 18 firms that took loans, ultimately injecting $84,869,000 of federal funds into the Florida legal industry.

The money was used in part to protect 4,298 jobs — $19,746 per job — according to the SBA records, which didn’t disclose the status of GrayRobinson’s $10 million loan, Morgan & Morgan’s $5.2 million loan, or Conroy Simberg’s $6.2 million loan.
