Two Miami attorneys on Monday said that they fended off an attempt by federal prosecutors to undo a Massachusetts judge’s lower court ruling, in favor of the lawyers’ white-collar client.

The U.S. First Circuit Judge O. Rogeriee Thompson authored the opinion, ruling that U.S. District Judge Allison D. Burroughs, who sits in Massachusetts, did not abuse her discretion in granting Richard Boncy a new trial.
