Miami real estate sales and marketing specialist Rolando Moreno met Edgar Gonzalez on the gridiron. It was 1990 at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami. As Moreno was walking off the field after practice, he saw a teammate he didn't recognize petitioning a coach for more playing time.
In the parking lot, Moreno introduced himself to Gonzalez, who initially denied he was complaining about too few reps. After a brief exchange, Moreno told Gonzalez, "When you're on the field, just keep hitting until the whistle blows. The coaches seem to like that."
