The unthinkable tragedy at Champlain Towers in Surfside, Florida, impacted us all. That the tragedy was entirely foreseeable, but the property owners did not act, makes it that much harder to accept the gravity of these incredible losses. These losses cannot be in vain.

Property owners too often know of dangers on their property, but fail to take action before tragedy occurs. We trust property owners to keep us safe, because they are in a superior position to do so, but far too many deaths and serious injuries are foreseeable, and some property owners choose to ignore warning signs. They do this in order to save money, and are able to, because they are rarely held accountable. Property owners tactfully side-step blame, by betting that we do not know where to look, and cannot prove that the tragedy was foreseeable. Experienced attorneys know where to look, and can hold property owners accountable. Only through litigation will property owners change their ways.
