A jury awarded $60,000 to a former Riviera Beach building-code official who claimed that she was subjected to workplace discrimination and a retaliatory termination.

On Jan. 11, 2017, plaintiff Ladi Goldwire, a building-code official, began working for the city of Riviera Beach. Goldwire claimed that she was immediately subjected to discriminatory treatment that continued throughout her employment, which concluded on April 29, 2019. She claimed that the discrimination extended to her compensation, and she further claimed that her discrimination-related complaints prompted retaliatory responses.
