Stroock & Stroock & Lavan has hired former Akerman litigator Naim Surgeon as a partner, the New York-based Am Law 200 firm announced this week.

Surgeon started at Akerman in 2015 as an associate in the Am Law 100 firm’s complex litigation and fraud and recovery practices. He made partner in 2017 and worked on the high-profile receivership of Jay Peak after the Vermont ski resort’s former owners allegedly misused more than $200 million worth of foreign investors’ funds.
