A man struck by a car while bicycling through a Pompano Beach intersection was awarded nearly $660,000 by a jury, though he is not expected to recover more than $10,000.

On Sept. 20, 2016, plaintiff Steven Napper, 55, a rehabilitative counselor, was bicycling on the eastbound side of East Atlantic Boulevard, near its intersection at Federal Highway, in the city of Pompano Beach. While Napper was proceeding through the intersection, he was struck by a car that was being driven by Janet Graf, who was traveling on the southbound side of Federal Highway. Napper suffered injuries of a leg, a shoulder and a wrist.
