The historic Miami-Dade County Courthouse is now considered structurally sound after a July 2021 report recommended partial closure of the building. But there’s more work to be done, with repairs estimated to cost $4 million.
The courthouse initiated the inspection, which discovered concrete spalling and cracks in some overhead beams and slabs, corrosion at steel column members, and a water leak seeping through an existing beam on the third floor.
