CommentaryThe Florida Bar's Oath of Admission states that attorneys must practice "the principles of duty and service to the public, … improve the administration of justice, and … advance the science of jurisprudence." When we take the oath to become attorneys and officers of the court, the ceremony lasts a few brief moments, but the responsibility we take on to advance those ideals and promises lasts a lifetime. The commitments in the oath have guided me throughout my career, and they guide The Florida Bar in its mission to serve our members and the public.
