Real estate lawyer Jason Merritt was there, on Nov. 12, for the final day of business at Hopping Green & Sams, the Tallahassee law firm that once employed 50 lawyers and recently saw groups of shareholders leave for Big Law and lobbying opportunities.

The following Monday, Merritt landed at Greenberg Traurig’s nearby Tallahassee office as of counsel in real estate and public finance, the firm announced Wednesday. He is the second former Hopping Green real estate shareholder to join Greenberg’s Tallahassee office, following the March hiring of public finance shareholder Brian Crumbaker.
