A jury awarded $550,000 to a man who claimed that he suffered spinal injuries in a motor-vehicle accident caused by an uninsured motorist.

On Oct. 2, 2019, plaintiff Samuel Thompson, 52, drove to a residence that was located on Northeast 23rd Street, in the city of Belle Glade. He was delivering a load of gravel, so he parked in the residence’s front yard. An uninsured motorist, traveling on Northeast 23rd Street, lost control of his vehicle.
