Coral Gables attorneys announced Wednesday a multimillion-dollar presuit settlement involving the estate of a man who was shot dead on the premises of two businesses in Monroe County, which is an area the lawyers said is commonly known as “one of the most difficult jurisdictions to sue.”

And one aspect that Michael Haggard and Adam Finkel of the Haggard Law Firm said was critical in settling with the defendants, Fishbusterz LLC and Bernstein Benjamin Residuary, were their tests in front of focus groups that consisted of Florida Keys residents. As a result, they tailored their arguments with defense counsel accordingly.
