Greenberg Traurig shareholder Greg Herbert in Orlando has secured a win for his firm's client, Telemundo, in an appeal of a summary judgment in a hotly contested copyright infringement case.
The case involved a claim initially filed by Caracol Television against Telemundo over various production agreements related to a popular telenovela named "El Senor de los Cielos" (Lord of the Skies). Caracol allegedly claimed it owned all the rights to a particular fictional character in the show, and Telemundo was using it without permission.
