The highest court in Florida entered an opinion that created a new guiding precedent centered on the law of unjust enrichment in class action litigation.

The Florida Supreme Court ruled that Steven Pincus—who sued American Traffic Solutions Inc., now known as Verra Mobility, over its convenience fee for red-light ticket processing—could not bring an unjust-enrichment claim against the company.
