A Fort Lauderdale attorney said that a Florida appellate court ruling clarifies how high the burden of proof is for criminal culpable negligence.

Third District Court of Appeal Judges Edwin Scales, Eric Hendon and Bronwyn Miller overturned the conviction of Jonathan Aledda, a North Miami police officer who shot at an unarmed man with autism, and hit his mental health therapist, who had been standing adjacent to the man.
