The Florida Supreme Court entered an emergency suspension order involving 58-year-old West Palm Beach attorney Donald Jacobson, who allegedly fired multiple shotgun shells that peppered his girlfriend, a terminally ill lung cancer victim who had asked him for her medication, according to court filings.

Anthony V. Alfieri, a professor and director of the Center for Ethics & Public Service at the University of Miami School of Law, is not involved in the case.
