Counsel at Reed Smith on Wednesday removed a wrongful death and product liability lawsuit against General Electric and its subsidiary GE Healthcare, a medical equipment manufacturer, to Florida Middle District Court.

The complaint, filed by Morgan & Morgan on behalf of the Estate of Nicole Octavia Key, contends that GE’s ‘Dash 4000′ patient monitor malfunctioned and failed to alert emergency staff when Key was placed on the machine after complaining of abdominal and chest pain. The suit also pursues claims against Parath Rod Sou, the responsible servicer of the ‘Dash 4000′ monitor. The case is 8:22-cv-00680, Cuevas-Duprey v. GE Healthcare, Inc. et al.
