Mindy Jones is an attorney at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida.

Law practice is often a team endeavor. What has been your experience with teamwork in the law?

I have worked with the family law unit for my entire practice. We often say our family law unit is a family. Attorneys rely on support staff like our receptionists, intake paralegals and paralegals to help us provide the best representation we can. We want our clients to feel like they are getting the same service as someone who is paying for legal services. We work as a team every day. If you need someone to cover a hearing, there are multiple volunteers. We look at each other’s pleadings, letters, sit in on client meetings and learn from each other every day. If you are finally taking a much-needed vacation, you know your cases and clients will be well taken care of in your absence.
