Eli Lilly, the Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical giant, sued Brad M. Beatty and Lillian Finance LLC Friday in Florida Middle District Court for trademark infringement. The court action, filed by FordHarrison and Pattishall, McAuliffe, Newbury, Hilliard & Geraldson, seeks to block the defendants’ from using the nickname ‘Lilly’ to market a blockchain-based medical platform and from continuing to use the name ‘LY’ for cryptocurrency. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 8:22-cv-01288, Eli Lilly and Company v. Beatty et al.
