South Florida Judge Melanie Surber will rise from the county to the circuit court bench after an appointment by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
However, when Ryan Newman, the governor's general counsel called Surber on Friday around 5:30 p.m., the judge was reluctant to answer her phone because she receives "a million spam calls a day."
