Less than a year after suing over an attack on hotel guests that presented a "savage" example of how businesses can become exposed to negligent security claims, a South Florida attorney has secured a $16 million settlement.
It's a result that demonstrates how a litigator's level of preparation can dictate their success in a case, according to plaintiffs attorney Justin Shapiro of Leesfield Scolaro in Coral Gables.
