A jury found no negligence by a thoracic surgeon who performed a lobectomy on a patient who had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

On Dec. 1, 2016, plaintiff Jerry Blush, 61, underwent a right lower lobectomy. The procedure was performed by thoracic surgeon, Dr. David Sims, and involved the removal of a portion of Blush’s right lung. Blush had previously been diagnosed with lung cancer, and an oncologist had referred him to Sims.
