A high school student was awarded $225,000 against the Palm Beach County School Board for injuries she suffered while playing a flag-football game.

On Oct. 30, 2018, plaintiff Carolina Ilvento, 17, a high school student, participated in a charity flag-football game at Olympic Heights High School, in Boca Raton. She was wearing tennis shoes during the game, which occurred on a practice field. During the contest, Carolina fell to the ground. She suffered a femur fracture.
