A man who suffered significant burns when his car burst into flames during an interstate collision was awarded $20.7 million against the estate of the man who caused the crash.

On Aug. 25, 2019, plaintiff Michael Edwards, 30, self-employed, was operating a sedan on northbound Interstate 95 in Miami. He was in the left non-express lane. Pedro Omar Casilla Contreras was operating a sport utility vehicle in the right non-express lane.
