A man who claimed he was battered by police officers during an arrest was awarded $600,000 by a federal jury.

On Sept. 13, 2017, plaintiff Victor Sepulveda, 44, an information technology professional, was sitting in his vehicle on the side of a road in Doral, Fla. Omar Felipe, an officer with the Doral Police Department, approached him. Felipe eventually ordered Sepulveda out of the car and called for backup. Two more Doral officers, Alberto Tellez and Michael Acosta, arrived at the scene.
