A woman who was injured when her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer was awarded $2,124,337.65, which was then reduced to $1,487,036.36 to reflect her comparative negligence.

On March 4, 2020, plaintiff Elizabeth Spires, 22, a college student and part-time home health aide, was operating a compact car eastbound on State Road 520, near the State Road 528 ramp in Orange County. She was in the left lane. Another driver was operating a sport utility vehicle ahead of Spires’ car and in the right lane of State Road 520.
