We tend to think of high-walled, tall-shrubbed communities in South Florida as enclaves for people who share a common interest in privacy, recreational sports (Pickleball, anyone?), and having only a few visitors other than friends and relatives escaping the frigid Northeast.

What if instead the gated roads led to a resort where residents stayed a night or two with access to all of the amenities rather than the just for the winter season? What if the luxury residences were not second homes or locals-only residences?
