A disbarred Florida attorney was indicted on federal racketeering charges Thursday after allegedly engaging in wire fraud and money laundering using his former Tallahassee law firm.

Among other allegations, the indictment accuses Phillip Timothy Howard of fraudulently convincing some of his clients to put their retirement funds in some investment companies that he also ran. On top of allegations of promising a 25% return within 60 days that never came to be, Howard and some of his colleagues are accused of trying to defraud clients from a total of more than $10 million.
