In a race including three attorneys, one a former judge, the winner was a former journalist and first Hispanic to hold the Miami City District 2 commissioner seat and according to City Hall records, the first woman to hold the seat.
Sabina Covo captured nearly 30% of the vote total in a field of 13 candidates.
