One of South Florida's defining features is its vibrant Hispanic population, which many law firms use to build culture around diversity. But is there room for improvement?

While many local firms boasted higher ratios of overall diversity numbers in The American Lawyer's 2022 Diversity Scorecard, diversity at the leadership level still lagged slightly behind for some.

"Your workforce should be representative of your community because it makes you attuned to what is going on around you and it enables you to better support your staff and employees," said Adrian Felix, chair of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod's DEI committee. "If you only have a singular thought or one type of person in your workforce, you have blind spots."
