While Florida Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz spoke about the importance of the Chief Justice Award for Judicial Excellence, the ears of Gordon Murray, one of the three finalists, perked up over the accomplishments of the winner.
"As I listened to his words and he was describing the nominated winner, I said to myself, 'That sounds pretty much like things that I've done,'" Murray recalled. "When he mentioned my name, it was a great relief."
