June is Pride Month. It is a time of celebration, commemoration, and activism for the LGBTQ+ community, and serves as a reminder of the need to promote equity, acceptance and respect for everyone. A Gallup poll found that 7.6% of U.S. adults identify as LGBTQ+, with Generation Z and millennials representing the largest numbers. Many people have trouble accepting this emerging group, even with their growing numbers and greater cultural recognition. It can be frustrating when dealing with strangers who have differing opinions on the subject, but navigating acceptance when your spouse holds differing views on LGBTQ+ rights can be even more challenging. However, it is not insurmountable.
