Florida-based Am Law 200 firm Cole, Scott & Kissane has historically been heavily invested in insurance work, but as Florida’s tort reform measures continue looming over the legal industry, the firm is shifting some personnel into construction work as that sector proves lucrative.

A  Cole, Scott & Kissane lawyer pushed for the initial tort reform measure that passed last year, with the intended goal of dramatically reducing the number of insurance claim lawsuits across the state. But anticipating the law’s effect, the firm set a plan in place to start focusing more of its efforts toward its construction practice as it continues seeing explosive growth there.
