A former employee of Royal Caribbean just scored class-action certification in Miami on behalf of thousands of cruise line workers whose pension funds took a hit due to alleged mismanagement of the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Retirement Savings Plan.

In Johnson v. Russell Inv. Trust. Co., the plaintiff, Ann Johnson, alleges Russell Investments Trust Co., formerly known as Russell Trust Co., Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd., and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Investment Committee allegedly mismanaged the company’s $500 million 401(k) portfolio by switching out well-performing Vanguard funds for its own struggling investments.
