Vince Cohen was elected global managing partner of Dechert in July of 2023. His path to that role did not follow one typical of the Big Law community. Cohen, a prep basketball star in the DC area growing up, went on to play for legendary Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim. But before that, Cohen saw the ravages the emerging drug epidemic of the 1980s and early 1990s had on the D.C. community, and his career path has been shaped by his desire to give back to his hometown.
