"I'm an attorney, and I believe it's important to have a clerk of the court who understands the significance of criminal cases," Fernandez-Barquin said. "Out of the 67 counties in Florida, 57 have clerks who are businesspeople like me—people who know how to manage a large staff, handle budgets, and oversee operations," Taddeo said.
