After a nearly 40-year mystery, Niki Lauda's helmet was found, and it will be returned to the company that designed it.

Dainese and Bonhams & Butterfields Auctioneers reached a settlement regarding Lauda's helmet, which the driver was wearing during the horrifying crash at the F1 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring on Aug. 1, 1976. Dainese is an Italian company and the successor by merger of AGV, the company that designed the helmet.
